It's Greek to me!
Starting off
Day 30
Lots of time doing schoolwork today. Especially music. Neither of us could figure out time signatures from the few worksheets, so I found something to help us on YouTube.
The guy explains it really well. At least M seemed to understand it. It's all Greek to me! I am going to have M look at the other Music Matters videos.
M used to love listening to an audiobook of A.A. Milne's Hundred Acre Wood tales. In the middle of the YouTube music lesson, he squealed out, "He sounds like Pooh!" Sure enough, the teacher's English accent did sound like Pooh from the audiobook. It was all we could do to stop laughing!
M wanted me to walk with him to pick up his lunch. Instead I opted to pop in the shower. When he got home he said someone had dressed up in the school's mascot and was handing out the bags. How funny! (He recognized Mr. T from his voice.)
I spent the afternoon working. Trying to figure out colors and what would look good in the library. I originally wanted everything in primary colors, but they seem to be out of fashion and not available, so I am going with a split complementary color scheme of mostly blue, green, yellow, and an occasional pop of orange. Hopefully it'll look cohesive.
So hard to choose!
Went for two walks with C, before and after dinner. Good to get out and stretch my legs! We walked by a group of kids playing on a trampoline. They cheered at me as we walked by. C said it was like being celebrities. Too funny.
The snow's nearly gone!
We noticed the first bit of green grass along the road opposite my driveway. Signs of spring!
It's greening up.
After a tasty dinner of grilled red salmon, potato salad and beets, the lads and I played a couple of games of Bananagrams. Fun!
My first 11 tiles!
A sad bit of news: a cousin's wife recently passed away from cancer. In 1984, my newlywed brother, his wife, and all us sisters drove from Beantown to New Orleans to go to this couple's wedding. My father (this cousin's godfather) had passed away just a few weeks earlier. An impromptu road trip.
Because of The Virus, the family couldn't have a funeral service, so imaginatively organized a drive-through memorial. I hope it was cathartic for them. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
