Palm Sunday without the palms

Increase the faith of those that hope in Thee,
O God, and mercifully hear the prayers
of Thy suppliants; let Thy multiplied mercy descend upon us...may we go forth to
meet Christ with good works,
bearing palms and branches of olive; and, through Him, may we enter into eternal joy.
- The Collect for Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday without the palms, without the Mass. We lit a blessed candle, read the missal, and prayed the rosary.

Crazy day with sunshine, high winds and snow flurries. It's T's birthday. I baked a cranberry cake with cream cheese frosting. I'd planned to make a carrot cake, but we didn't have enough carrots. The cranberry cake was quite tasty, I'll definitely make it again!

I spent the morning relaxing and reading. It's nice to have leisure time, usually the weekends are very rushed. Day 8 of the 100 Day challenge. Went for a walk with C. Spoke to my dear friend G, an unexpected phone call but we were able to have a nice chat as the others had gone out for a Sunday drive.

Zoomed with my siblings. A brother is sick with something that sounds like food poisoning. He's on his own with only his dog; it's scary to think of him all alone. His wife is petrified of The Virus, too afraid to be with her sick husband. It is crazy. Another sibling asked us if we all had wills. Only a few of us have one; sadly, probably even fewer have been to confession recently.

We watched another family movie. This time it was a Bourne movie without Jason Bourne. Freaky viruses that enhance human function played a huge role in the film. Way too creepy for me to enjoy right now with the spectre of The Virus hanging over our heads.

Or is it? We are now completely isolated from the outside world except for whatever freight planes bring in. All passenger plane travel has ceased. The snow has melted enough that travel by snowmachine is sketchy, and the rivers and bay are still iced up. Isolation. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
