Tenebrae
For the first time in 5 years, I did not attend Tenebrae. It is one of the most hauntingly beautiful ceremonies I have ever seen. The singing is exquisite. Each candle is extinguished after psalms and scripture are read, then, in total darkness, the church erupts with noise until a single lit candle emerges from the gloom. Listen to The Miserare and be transported.
H and T went out skiing this morning while I stayed home and exercised. I really need to put together an exercise playlist of music as I'm getting sick of watching the same video over and over.
I went for two walks, once solo and once with C. I also collected the school lunch from the delivery spot. T had to work today. He's going in 3 days a week now. I am starting to think I should go in for a few hours just to....alleviate the boredom? I haven't done much all week but some household chores and read. I'm averaging a book a day, about 4 hours per book. I need to shut the book and set some goals. But the background hum of The Virus worry keeps me distracted and unmotivated.
I'm also keeping M corralled and focused on getting his schoolwork finished. He's better about doing it if I sit there with him.
I've been avoiding online media for the past few days. I'll check Facebook for updates and email once a day, but am trying to keep my mind off of things I can't control. And it seems like the radio is on all day and the tv is on all evening, so I can't help but get news that way. And C has all the local scuttlebutt, so I'm keeping informed.
Still wearing the dress. I wrote a review for it on #wool& today. I've decided that I really like it. It's comfortable and versatile. Wish the bodice was a bit longer and the pockets were a bit deeper, but if I could only have one dress, this would be it.
