The dress that saved my sanity
Holy Saturday Vigil
The new fire struck from flint represents Christ the cornerstone and light of the world.
The Paschal candle symbolizes the radiance and glory of His Resurrection.
Thank God for photographs! They help me remember the peace and joy that encompassed me at last year's Easter Vigil. The crazy sadness and frenzy of the day was blotted out by the overwhelming serenity of the Vigil.
It seems like another life.
About noon today I suddenly realized that if it wasn't for the 100 Day Dress challenge, I'd be in sweats all day! Roll out of bed, toss on sweats and a t-shirt, and chill all day. Instead, I get up and actually get dressed. Brush my teeth. Take a shower. Fix my hair.
Today was Spa Day. I painted my nails. Washed and conditioned my hair, then took time to curl it. Put on makeup. Glammed myself up. And noone noticed. That's what one gets in a household of men! Ugh!!! C noticed when we went for a walk. 😊
It warmed up a bit today. The snow is melting quickly. None of us did much today. Built Legos. Went for walks. Sat on the sofa and read. T and M tried to put on their shirts while standing on their hands. I tidied up the back hall. T made dinner. We watched a ridiculous movie called Hot Fuzz, a British parody of a police action film.
Let now the heavenly choirs of angels rejoice:
let the divine mysteries be joyfully celebrated:
let a sacred trumpet resound the victory
of so great a King.
Let earth also rejoice illuminated
with such resplendent rays;
and let it see that the darkness
which overspread the whole world
is chased away
by the splendor of our eternal King.
