Trying Tuesday
Day 31
Casualties of The Virus:
1. my marriage
2. my sanity
3. my waistline
Okay, I am totally sick of it here. Hard to be upbeat and have an attitude of gratitude when people around you are grumpy, miniscule things break and someone gets upset, the dust and dirt levels are obscene, you have to keep nagging your kid to get his work done, and...why is there always an and?
I wish I lived in a house where all I had to do is maintain, rather than continually having projects to do. Like a house where someone changes bedroom doors from regular ones to solid oak just to have a fun project. (Yes, truth!) And hearing my friend talk about her (pristine) yard makes me want to throw up my hands rather than fight the battle in my yard.
Wow! Venting! It's been since Friday, March 13th that I've been affected by The Virus. The day I was notified that spring break was extended.
6 1/2 weeks. Hard to remember "normal."
School with M. We've been reading an excerpt about an arctic expedition, and M was interested in reading the entire book, so I went online and found it on Project Gutenberg. Figured out how to download books to the reader on the ipad, and downloaded a few more freebies. Also read a brief online bio of the author, Elisha Kent Kane. Obscure fact: the length of his funeral train was second only to Lincoln's!
success!
Cleaned off the island counter and covered dustjackets until I ran out of covers. Still have a few more to cover. Glad I've nearly finished a project!
tools of the trade
Called my friend R. FFF = fast friends forever. Great to talk to her. Last time we chatted was just after The Virus threatened. Her brother had a stroke and noone could visit him. Craziness! He's doing better, but still at rehab, and still can't have visitors. Other than that, her family is fine. She's coping with everyone at home just fine. Very upbeat. We talked for over an hour.
Walked with C. Warm out, I ended up carrying my sweatshirt and was fine in a t-shirt. Raked in the yard for about an hour. Lovely weather. No pesky bugs!
