Wednesday the Workday

Went in to work today. Rode in with T at 7:30. The school was dark and quiet. I was the only one there until the secretary arrived about 45 minutes later. I got quite a bit done this morning.

Early bird gets the worm!

About 10am the account clerk came into the library to go over my plans for refurbishing. We went through the paperwork and made a couple of changes, then she submitted the order. Hopefully we'll have a fresh new space in the fall! And the guy who's supposed to paint came in to check out the room. He plans to start in May. That's Friday. I'm so excited!!!

For lunch T and I decided to check out the only restaurant in town...Hawaiian burgers, fries and greasy sweet potatoes. $40. Thanks T! We never go out to eat here (there's nowhere to go!) so it was quite a treat. Livin' large!

Nushagak Bay

We drove over to the boat harbor to enjoy our lunch. It was too windy to sit outside, so we ate in the car. The first tender of the season is anchored in the bay. We watched the icebergs floating in the current, then saw a whale. Then another. Then a pod of beluga playing. Or at least splashing around.

Back to the grind. Actually got through nearly all the biographies! I closed everything up and texted T that I was leaving, and to keep an eye out for me as I was going to start walking home. He responded that I'd probably be home by the time he got out of work - it was only 3:30!

still at it...

So I turned the computer back on and started up again. Happily, because I'm getting things done! Ended up leaving at quarter to five. Walked over a mile before T picked me up.

As of 10am this morning, the road into our neighborhood is closed so city maintenance can fix the giant frost heave. I walked up to the detour road, T picked me up, then we stopped to get gas.

Oil prices are less than $0 a barrel. Yup, you read that right. Gas prices in the Lower 48 are about $1/gallon. Check out the price we pay.
$5/gallon

We took the detour, then when we got into our subdivision we stopped to check out the road work.
The road is closed!

Looks like a big mud hole.

Ah, spot the silver lining!

Finally home at 5:30pm. Long day! Immediately texted C and walked the loop with her and the dogs. Barely sat down to put my feet up, and dinner was ready. Banana split for dessert. And a game of pingpong with T for after dinner exercise.

I asked H to take a picture of me, and he goes down a few steps to get a really bad angle.

Check out that face!

Gently correcting him...

Day 32

Much better!!!

I saw this meme and it struck me as hysterically funny. Not that I would ever do that.
