Gravel...and more gravel

Usual morning routine. Woke an hour earlier than I'd wanted to because of a whining dog. Buddy has mastered the high pitch "Let me out now!" squeal. So I dragged myself out of bed. Popped in the shower to help wake me. H made extra-strong coffee. Got M up and at 'em a little earlier than usual, and we hit the books for a couple of hours. Fix It! Grammar, catechism, CNR, science, geography. (TT math on his own later.)

H remembered that our neighbor called several days ago to let us know she had some more starts of hedge bushes for us. So he and M headed over to collect them while I got ready for work. Headed into town about 10:30. Stopped for gas & put my name in the jar for the free fill up (never lucky!). Then I met my colleague Sherri and we headed out on a walk around town.

Started out at the Bristol Inn and walked to the small boat harbor. Fun to stop and take pictures along the way. We walked for about 45 minutes. It was cold out! I wore gloves! Should've had a hat on and was very glad my headband covered my ears. (Using my neck gaiter as a mask.)

Sherri and I parted ways after our walk, and I headed to work. Measuring bookshelves and trying to figure out the best way of arranging things, when I hit upon a good use of a shelf: to hold books! Moved a larger bookshelf behind my desk and transferred books to it. Then I worked on processing some new books for the library outpost in the middle school.

Day 41

Finally ordered a bed for T. Last summer he took apart the bunkbed H made for him and his brother when they were little. Since then he's been sleeping on a mattress on the floor. So, I ordered him a bed, and also ordered a queen-size frame. And a bedside table that I've been oogling since last October. And a crazy looking book shelf. And a stool. And a light. And a coat rack with shelves. Figured that if I'm shipping out one thing I might as well make it worth the cost of freight.

Came home to a load of pit-run gravel in the driveway. H is using it in the raised bed garden project, and also wants to spread it out on the driveway. Huge project. The lads spent the day shoveling gravel. Then about 5 o'clock, they got a gas-powered machine to tamp down the gravel. Heard that for the next three hours! But they got the hole in the garden filled in and ready for the next phase of the project. The rest of the gravel...that will be another day!

I finished my first knitting project! I'm very excited as it turned out even. I twisted the ends and sort of sewed them together to make a short infinity scarf. Quite pretty! Now on to my next project: yup, another scarf!!!

Voila!
