Lethargy Assails Me

Woke to a gorgeous new day. H slept in the living room with the dog because he didn't want the dog following him downstairs in the night. Needless to say, sleeping on the sofa didn't make for a good night's sleep! Can you say "nap"! T went to work. I sat with my coffee, visited with H and tried to wake up.

Feeling stiff, sore and lethargic. Both my elbows hurt, but especially my left one which has an open scrape on it. And my right rear hurts every time I sit. I must have fallen really hard! And if I'm feeling this way, I can only imagine what poor Lumpy feels like!

Sent photos to O to show him
our pup's okay.

The animal control officer called me about 9am. He'd received my message and wanted to confirm my story. He said he'd be right over, but didn't arrive until noon. We told him the story again. He said the city has new laws: #4 a dog kills a person or another dog #3 a dog bites a person #2 a dog bites a dog...and he didn't say what #1 was. The incident with the husky was a #2, so the owners would get a warning. I hadn't noticed that he was recording our conversation until he put his mini tape recorder away. Later I texted him pictures of our dog's wounds.

H picked up our furniture at cargo. It had actually come in yesterday, but I got the message to late. Quick service! Glad we did business with a local Anchorage company. I ❤ my new bedside table! Not sure about the bed yet though. I'm afraid I'm going to hit my head on the headboard, and I know I'm going to knock my calves on the ends of the bed. And now there's a box spring we need to get rid of.

Not sure where I'll put the stool. I thought I could use it in my closet, but it's 3x the size I'd expected! Beautiful though. Also the coat rack. M throws his coats every which way, and I thought a coat rack would be useful, but there's no room for it! Ah well, I'll find a spot.

T is delighted with his bed. He's not so sure about the headboard, but I love it! He's happy that his bed is off the floor now. He said this morning his lamp fell over when he was trying to turn it on and knocked over a glass of water. What a way to wake up!

School this morning: catechism, CNR, literature (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe), math, and science. I keep forgetting to read the Art book with him. I was planning to do "bootcamp" grammar with M (3 weeks/day) but will probably delay it a week as it looks like H will be with us for another week. His coworkers' flight was cancelled, so they're not coming in until the 4th. Freight is due in on the 6th, so he might as well wait until then to quarantine. So we have him another week. Yeah!!!

Beautiful day! It was about 65! I went for a walk with C about 3:30 (we avoided the vicious dog's house). We stopped by her house to watch the roofers. C is replacing the shingles on her roof with metal. They'd just gotten started, and for the rest of the day we could hear them hammering and sawing. Noisy!

Still heard lots of bird song. There haven't been as many small planes flying overhead as is usual for this time of year. Apparently there have been a lot of cancellations. I don't miss the plane traffic!

a day for knitting

I forgot to wear my Wool& dress yesterday. I was going to take a shower and change, but completely forgot. Then with the dog attack trauma, the day was pretty much over. So, alas, I am not going to complete the 100 day challenge. I wore my new doggie dress today. Light, it is perfect for this weather.

The day passed swiftly. I didn't do much, just puttered. Watered plants. Knitted. Made lunch (egg salad and salad). Made dinner (blinis with oranges and apples on the side). Petted the dog. Still feel dazed. I hope I snap out of it.

H, T and M cleaned Lumpy's wounds several times during the day. He has been lethargic and sleeping most of the day. We took him out and he spent the morning outside, but I think he's better off inside where he can rest undisturbed. The mosquitoes and black flies are starting to show up.

Well, I started this blog to remember what The Virus times were like. Seems like people here are still terrified of being inundated with Covid-19 brought in by outsiders. Yet many don't adhere to the mask-wearing and 6" ordinances. There were 13 new cases in Alaska yesterday, more than half on the Kenai.

And in other news, there has been rioting in Minneapolis and other cities because a cop killed a black guy by kneeling on his neck.

And President Trump is taking on social media after Twitter had a fact check screen over one of his tweets.
