May 1st Feast of St. Joseph

I figured it wouldn't take long for producers to start manufacturing Virus-related stuff. Saw masks for sale at The Gap. The above design is for sale out of King Salmon. So much for the cooperative effort of passing out homemade masks!

proposed quarantine area

Thankfully the city council deferred its vote on the proposed boundaries. The above map shows that NAPA and the park at the end of the boat harbor would off-limits to locals. Tide Table and Spruce Kitchen could only serve fishermen, I guess. And they'd have to stay there at night, too! Obviously not a well-thought out plan.

Kinda annoys me that Costco, Delta, Alaska Airlines, etc. are now requiring masks to be worn. About two months late!!! Why now? Lawsuits, I believe.

I am so ready to be somewhere else. My plan was to leave in June and go south for a month. All the restrictions on the airlines are making me queasy. And will I have to quarantine for 14 days? In Pville and then in WR? Are hotels open? 266? These questions are driving me nuts!

Day 34

hail!

schoolwork with M

chilly out

Congested and headachy most of the day. Reviewed schoolwork with M. Hadn't worked with him for the past few days, but he was on task, so we breezed through most of it.

He and H went to town in the early afternoon. H had some errands to do, and M begged to go with him. He hadn't been to town in about six weeks! He stayed in the car the whole time, but he seemed to be glad to see different scenery.

Not feeling well for most of the day. Took a nap. Walked with C. Raked a tiny portion of the yard. Put the stuff for the wood stove in the back hall. Another day gone. Start of a new month.

Here's something interesting. Today is the feast of St. Joseph the worker. M and I read the missal and there were some beautiful prayers. I opened my bedside missal to copy the prayers to this blog so I'd remember them...and May 1 is the feast of Ss. Philip and James, Apostles. Woah! This missal was published in 1934 and revised in 1943. To add to the confusion, I checked my calendar. It shows today's feast as St. Joseph, and also St. Peregrine. Checked the date on our daily missals: 1956.

Unless the Lord build the house,
they labor in vain who build it.
