Memorial Day 2020
Chilly, but pleasant way to relax!
"It is a theory of mine," I said, warming to my theme, "that we owe most of our great inventions and most of the achievements of genius to idleness - either enforced or voluntary. The human mind prefers to be spoon-fed with the thoughts of others, but deprived of such nourishment it will, reluctantly, begin to think for itself - and such thinking, remember, is original thinking and may have valuable results."
- spoken by Jerry Burton in Agatha Christie's The Moving Finger
Schoolwork with M into the afternoon. He declared that he doesn't want to take classes at the middle school next year, and that he'd get more done at home. Agreed. Glad he realizes it and is starting to own his education. We took a look at what will be completed before we end the school year with a goal of the end of June (5 weeks).
Still on the fence about traveling. If we stay here or take a short trip into Anchorage, we can keep on schooling and get a head start for next year. But - can I stay sane? That is the question! O is getting antsy to know if we'll be seeing him, so I just need to decide!
It's greening up!
H planted starts in the dirt pile.
Guess he thinks his project won't be done soon!
Day 40 of the 100 Day Challenge
Security distancing at our neighbors' Memorial Day cookout.
Went for a walk in the morning with C. Cold! My hands were like icicles when I got home.
Knitted a little more. Still haven't finished the scarf.
T wants a bed. Looked online but no companies will ship out here. Finally took a look at an Anchorage furniture store's website. Bonanza! Quality furniture and on sale too!
Ordered a pair of Salomon slip on shoes from REI. I had a pair of Salomons that I wore for years and years. The most comfortable shoes ever! I finally had to throw them out because the soles were split entirely in half and shoe-goo was no longer a fix. Hope the shoes I ordered are the same.
I also went through my Boden order. Need to return the stuff I don't absolutely . Tired of having a closet full of clothes yet nothing to wear. Will print out my original order (showing no final sale notice) and send it with the returns. Also returning the dresses from February. Same scenario.
