Mother's Day

Lots of greetings from friends old and new: Monika, Birgit, Marian, Laureen, Sheila, Sherri, Mary, Jeff, LeeAnn...wonderful!

I finally WhatsApped B. She wrote me about what's happening in Germany, and I wanted to let her know what's going on here. Probably TMI.

Received a package in the mail from my sister but saved it to open today to help make the day special. It did. 😀 She and I have this thing with fruit slices.

I made brunch: sauteed onion and peppers with scrambled eggs. And honeydew melon, courtesy of DES, which was absolutely delicious.

Added today's selection from The Liturgical Year to the missal reading and rosary. Really interesting, I need to read it more often. Like, daily. Though the lads' eyes were beginning to glaze over, methinks.

Gorgeous day. Zoomed briefly with sisters and then went for a walk with C and both dogs, on leashes. Made potato salad and jello.

Zoomed with siblings for 75 minutes. Decided on 4pm meeting time which is slightly better. (Sister who wanted the earlier time was sick of zooming, so won't be joining us anymore.) Enjoyed visiting with everyone. They were bummed that my dress challenge was stalled, mainly because they couldn't give me grief about it. Lol! H stayed with me for most of the zoom, and the Cape contingent had extras too. They're all still in lockdown. Big time. Except Po, 'cause he's special.

H decided at 5:30 that he should go to the dump (which closed at 6pm) so there was a scramble for trash. Rummaged around the freezer and managed to organize it a bit in my search.

Talked to O. Trying to figure out cell phone plans and income taxes. Very grumpy. Please don't punture my happy cloud!

Found a cool website called Storiarts that sells stuff with text from books on them: scarves, gloves, blankets, bags. Persuasion, Peter Pan, Proverbs...sadly all the Emma items were sold out!

H grilled some steaks. Potato salad with crunchy potatoes. Leftover coleslaw. Delicious. And jello with fruit cocktail and cool whip for dessert. All made by moi, except the steak. Happy Mother's Day!
