Quid est veritas?
M wanted to make his usual bangers and mash and sauerkraut for dinner last night, but H made chili instead. So I made them tonight. Sort of. Grilled sausage with fried potato, onions, garlic, cabbage, and sweet potato. I told him it was upscale bangers and mash. (H made a delicious salad in lieu of sauerkraut.)
"What is truth?"

I know, I know, I hate getting political. But this whole pandemic thing is just crazy. Neighbors against neighbors. State and federal officials stopped in our town on their tour of the region. There was a rally for...um, I'm not sure what.

protesters
These people dragged themselves and their kids out at 8am to hold up posters. What are they protesting? The Virus? These are not the same type of protesters that are holding rallies in the Lower 48. There folks are protesting the shelter-in-place rules and closed businesses. They want things to go back to "normal." Here it's the opposite. It seems that people want more restrictions. One guy claimed he was going to make a poster saying, "Mask it or casket!" Really.
All the news is about The Virus. And only The Virus. Yet it's hard to know what's really going on. People are terrified. People are lackadaisical. My head is spinning.

Statistics from the CDC
Enough of all that. We had a relaxing morning. Helped M with his schoolwork. I contacted his teachers and asked what else he should turn in before school ends next week. We haven't had any contact with them since spring break apart from the packets. No emails. No phone calls. No acknowledgement that his work was received. Or well done. Or badly done. Nothing.
This annoys me for two reasons. First, he's been plugging away at the assignments, there should be recognition. They are getting paid, they should interact with their students. Second, my sisters are working themselves to pieces trying to help the kids in their classes. Kudos to them!
Went for a walk up along Lake Road with my coworker L. Nice to visit. She'll be in quarantine for the next two weeks because her family arrives back in town tomorrow. In the bushes a tiny bright yellow bird caught our attention. A Wilson's warbler. Sweet.
Stopped at the local store to pick up things I forgot to buy yesterday. Plus a box of individual yogurts (I rarely buy them) and some ice pops. Another $100.
Walked the loop twice with C. No dogs as H was walking them at the same time. The lads went off on a bike ride.
I raked part of the east side yard. Didn't finish but was ready to take a break. A lineman was talking to H and I felt awkward. The lads messed with the rock wall and made it better. M edged the walkway unasked. The yard is slowly looking less unkempt.
Moved bins out of The Virus room into the den. T took some bins of toys to the attic to get them out of the way. Wish the house had more storage. I know, I know. Reduce the stuff.
Dinner was bangers and mash, as reported above. Another walk with C and the dogs after dinner, then a browse through Boden. Too many cute patterns!
