Today is officially the last day of public school. I went in with T after lunch and stayed until 5pm. Cleaned up the stuff scattered on the floor and neatly put things away under the counter. Went through the counter drawers and gave away hanger things I've no use for. Talked to Mrs. I (about bookshelves), Ms. S (excited about her new role), and Ms. D (Beantown). Moved "new" books off the desk and onto the shelves behind the desk which is bursting. I really need to cull.
Day 37
School with M in the morning. He picked up his lunch for the last time. He is reading a book set in Holland for literature class, and the guide suggested he do a cultural activity. So I made Dutch apple fritters. Delicious!
Went for a walk twice around the loop this morning with C. Great to get out so early!
T came home for lunch: apple fritters and clam chowder. On the drive into work, I saw that photos of the high school seniors were put up along the flats into town. Great idea! 18 kids, so 9 on each side of the road.
The graduation ceremony was a parade from the airport into town led by the two firetrucks and with the graduates following in decked out vehicles. Pre-recorded speeches were played on the radio. Turned out nice.
In the evening C and I went for another walk, then we "shopped" at her house. I'm keeping the denim skirt that makes me feel pretty and also the leopard skirt. She liked the other dresses, but I don't love them, so they're going back. She gave me some leggings.
Love the patterns!
