Sweet sound of birdsong
I'm reading a book called The Switch about laptops which are accidentally switched when going through TSA. The coffee entrepreneur ends up with a senator's laptop that has top-secret info on it. Then weird things happen to him and he becomes really paranoid. I'm halfway through the book and still don't know how it turns out. (One thing that annoys me about the book is that it's set in Boston and the author makes lots of mistakes of locality.)
H and M made pizza for dinner tonight. It was really delicious. I'll usually have a couple of pieces of homemade pizza and I'm done, but this was worthy of seconds. And thirds!
Worked all day. 9 to 5. Finished with the BD project. Took books to be processed off the cart and onto the shelf behind the desk and on my old desk. Tons of books, I'm going to have to go through them more thoroughly.
Worked on the "Who Was...?" books and have only about a dozen to finish. I'll be happy when I finish the biographies and move on to fairytales!
I also pulled everything out of the counter as I'm hoping to shift it a little tomorrow. My side is bruised where I pass between counter and desk. Annoying! My coworker D said he'd give me a hand moving it.
Lunch with T today at the Tide Table. Coffee and squashed ham & cheese croissant. Watched the dredge in the boat harbor and saw a tugboat pulling a barge in the bay.
At 1 o'clock there was a party for our beloved gym teacher who's leaving after two years here (and 29 years teaching in Florida). We'll miss him as he was a wonderful gym teacher and a real can-do guy. There was quite a turnout for him, about half the staff.
Came home and flopped on my bed. Tired!
Walked with C and the dogs. C is having kid trouble with her newly adult child. Give in to demands? Mom. Let the kid figure it out on its own? Dad. Easy to see where things went wrong in the past, but hard to know what to do in the present. I told her that I have no advice, but am praying!
