Whitsunday
Come, Holy Ghost, send down those beams,
Which sweetly flow in silent streams
From Thy bright throne above.
O, come, Thou Father of the poor,
O, come, Thou source of all our store,
Come fill our hearts with love.
O Thou of comforters the best,
O Thou the soul's delightful rest,
The pilgrim's sweet relief.
Rest art Thou in our toil, most sweet
Refreshment in the noonday heat,
And solace in our grief.
O blessed Light of Life Thou art;
Fill with Thy Light the inmost hearts
Of those that hope in Thee.
Without Thy Godhead nothing can
Have any price or worth in man,
Nothing can harmless be.
Lord, wash our sinful stains away,
Water from heaven our barren clay,
Our wounds and bruises heal.
To Thy sweet yoke our stiff necks bow,
Warm with Thy love our hearts of snow,
Our wandering feet recall.
Grant to Thy faithful, dearest Lord,
Whose only hope is in Thy Word,
Thy sevenfold gift of grace.
Grant us in life Thy grace that we
In peace may die and ever be
In joy before Thy Face.

I headed outside for about an hour. Looked at the west flower garden. Walked with the dogs to the gate on the fence and picked up the piles of leaves I'd left there over a week ago. Then it started to rain. It rained off and on all day, some times heavily. Our pile of soil in the garden has probably washed away!
I think this is false hellebore (poisonous!)
H thinks it's watermelon berry.
To me, the leaves and stem look different.
Time will tell!

The berries have already formed on this plant.
Since the rain kept us inside, I puttered around in my bedroom. Moved the new shelf in. It's really ugly and doesn't look at all like the photo in the online catalog. I don't know if I can bear looking at it every day! I moved my old bookshelf out of the room. Not sure where I'll put it. H put the coat rack in The Virus bedroom, and moved his wooden gas/oil box there too. I cleaned off the windowsill in The Virus room and we put up the screens in the windows. We'll need them if this summer is anything like last summer. But the summer before was cold and rainy, so they might not be needed.

The lads messed around on the 3-wheeler and dirt bike for a while. How driving around on noisy vehicles can be fun is beyond me. They got wet and muddy, but enjoyed it. Bubble & squeak for dinner. Family movie night with Indiana Jones on the tv. I knitted, which made the movie more enjoyable (because I wasn't watching it!).
