Youth is wasted on the young.
M had an appointment at the DMV this morning. It's finally re-opened (by appointment only). He'd wanted to get his driver's permit on his birthday, but had to wait for his ss card, and by the time it came in the mail, the office was closed due to The Virus. Finally got his chance. He's ecstatic!
It's official - he can drive!
Eventually managed to settle him down and get some schoolwork finished. He's completed his assigned reading book! In addition to his usual subjects, we watched a video music lesson, and he worked on an art assignment. His PR and samples are due this Friday and school officially ends next Friday. Unofficially he'll be studying until the end of June!
Rained off and on today. H and M took the dogs on a long walk in the afternoon, so I didn't feel bad about leaving them at home when I went for a walk with C after dinner.
She might be heading in to Anchorage before the end of the month to help her son move out of his apartment. Youth is wasted on the young, and us older, wiser folks have to look on, biting our tongues. H was in the service at 18, and has basically been on his own since. I sometimes think my parents through me and my siblings to the wolves as we had very little (no!) advice or help from them. Different times, different generations.
incredibly delicious!
Made dinner: baked beans, potato salad and fresh fruit. The melon is perfectly ripe, and the pineapple was ripely perfect. What a wonderful gift!
It's the wait that's stressful...
