Already June

Found out via Facebook that someone M is friendly with at MIL is moving; M looked crestfallen when I told him. Wrote him a goodbye letter and mailed it today. Sigh. First Boomerangs, now this. Another door closed.

M was up before me and working on his schoolwork. Joy!

Allergies all morning until I finally took an Allegra. My walk with Sherri today was cancelled as her back is giving her problems. Decided to go in to town anyway. Picked up 4 lunches for M at the old Chog building (free packaged snacks for kids under 18). Went to work, checked in books, and updated a few. Was there for probably an hour and a half. Not long enough to get a lot done, but enough time to notice my stapler's missing.

Starting to look like I'm back at work!

Went to the post office. Two yellow slips and two L p.o. box keys. Turned in the yellow slips: two huge boxes and one large cylinder. Rolling the cart out to the car, I was juggling the mail and the cart when my sunglasses fogged up from the mask. When I tried to pull it down so I could breathe, the cart went off the sidewalk and the boxes bounced off and flew across the parking lot. Ugh!

Got the packages into the car, then went to the L section. Checked the boxes. One was a package for H while the other was stuffed full of five soft packages for someone else (Char). I was shocked! Went back into the clerk, told him of the mistake, and gave him the key. Then I told him about my missing coffee from May 9th. Looked up the email and showed him the tracking #. "Oooops. Our mistake," he said. So someone in this town is drinking coffee that they basically stole! Disappointed.

Went to AC for half & half (called Bigfoot earlier but they still don't have any). All that was available was a pint for $4. Cheaper than the Tide Table, so I bought it. Also filled up my cart with celery, carrots, tomatoes, fresh raspberries, apples, cans of roasted corn (a bargain at $2/can), pilot bread, mayo, and 4 bags of spicy Doritos marked 75% off. Until I went to check out and found the chips were only half off, so back they went.

Arrived home just as H and the lads were leaving with the dogs for the Lake. They carried in the groceries and opened the two large boxes: more dog food! One box had a 33lb bag of dog food and a squashed Lego set. (T contacted amazon customer service about it.)

Who puts a box of Legos in with a giant bag of dog food?

LI sis called just as I pulled into the driveway. Nice to chat with her! She was going through her things and came across a qiviut scarf she purchased on her first visit to Alaska. She's allergic to it but kept it to use in her textile classes. Now that she's retired, she doesn't need it anymore. She said she'd mail it to me, and then I told her my post office woes so she said she was afraid to mail it! And she snorted when I told her my chagrin that the recipient of my coffee wasn't honest, because...looting and rioting. Sad world we live in.

While H and the lads were at the Lake, I enjoyed the quiet by reading a Gray Man novel on Libby. It rained for a bit. Finally put the book down and went outside to work on my project. I'll need about 30 more rocks to finish the job. Moved the bricks under the front porch where the dog has started to dig.

Removing bricks and
replacing with rocks.
