What a Short Weekend!

Trollius are absolutely gorgous!

Quiet morning. Pancakes for breakfast. H zoomed. Total failure for the rest of us. My dear friend L from WR called. So wonderful hearing the sound of her voice and catching up on her news. Old friends are gold! We know each other so well, we speak in code.

Voila! A climbing rack!

Headed outside. Immediately swarmed by mosquitoes. Pulled up my hood and sprayed it with bug dope. Then it started to rain. Any other day I'd have wandered back into the house, but H is on a deadline. His only day off this week, so we couldn't waste his time. He helped me set up a climbing trellis, fixing the sagging fence while he was at it. I transplanted three delphinium plants from the west flower bed; hopefully they like the new spot! A few weeks ago I planted some peas. I moved two pots next to the trellis to give the tendrils something to climb.

In the meantime, H and the lads worked on the base of the raised bed. It was an all day job. Thankfully it stopped raining after a while and they were able to finish without getting too wet. If I'd known what this project entailed...

Walked with C twice as long. 4pm zoom with siblings (lil sis+ brothers only). Cooked dinner during the meeting so it was ready when the lads were finished outside. Sent Book Club email with book suggestions for future meetings. Read several books from DES which had been panned by L. Enjoyed one called Bink and Gollie.

The lads flew their rc plane this evening. Once again it was a short-lived activity. Now they have to buy a new wheel piece. Cie la vie.
