Time to Cross Things Off My To-Do List

A hanging basket full of mystery plants.

H loves the idea of gardening. Every spring he plants a gazillion seeds and is excited to see them grow. He refuses to pull any second sprouts in the same cell. Inevitably there are too many seedlings and not enough space in the garden to plant them. And as they're not marked and he's not here, I have no clue what they are (except the beets). I planted some seedlings pots and others I planted in the ground. Time will tell what they are!

The entire time I was outside I was annoyed by mosquitoes, despite spraying copious amounts of bug spray. Lad refuses to stay outside, preferring the comfort of his dog bed inside, while Bud loves to be outside even though he's being eaten alive!

Spent the morning on the phone with a broker working on my IRA. Long. But glad I can cross something off my to-do list!

Went for a walk with coworker L a little earlier than planned. We walked around the loop a couple of times instead of walking down roads. She was pressed for time as she's heading upriver tomorrow for a week and has lots of packing to complete. Later in the afternoon C and I walked double our usual route. Despite walking, I know I should exercise more.

Cute haircut! But T says it wouldn't suit me.

I love the simple style.

M still has some schoolwork to finish up. I haven't been good about keeping him on task this week. Too many distractions. Need to focus and prioritize his studies; as the summer continues it'll be harder to do.

Saw this clothing company advertised on facebook. Cute clothes! I love all the bright colors and patterns, and am intrigued with the way they are worn together. The layers are a bit much though. An acquaintance wears layers and it looks to me very messy and frumpy. In the catalog the style looks fantastic!

Washing up this evening it struck me that we use my mother's fine china, which she received as wedding presents 65 years ago, as our every day dishes. Growing up we would use them only on Sundays, and on holidays (Christmas, Easter) we would use her mother's china. They were very much treasured by her.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord!
Let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace. Amen
