The Book Club Discusses "1984"

Lots of catching up to do this morning. Spending time at Lone Tree has meant not keeping myself organized. Nice to have a quiet morning to focus before things slip through the cracks. Made reservations to stay in Seward: boat ride, hotel, kayaking, boat tour of the fjords. Then stay in Cooper Landing overnight. Will determine then whether to go to Homer. Glad I made some arrangements so the time doesn't just slip away.

Went to the gym, and
did the test the doctor ordered.
Yikes!

Rushed over to Lone Tree to light a fire under the teenager. Snuggles with my girls. Then on to Costco to finish shopping. Several things they usually carry aren't on the shelves, which means I'll have to come back or go to the other store in the hopes of finding them. Back to the condo to unload. Ate a sandwich for lunch. Read about Orphan X. Dozed off a few times. Tidied up, headed out. Back to Line Tree but made a few stops along the way.

On to Lone Tree, arriving just in time for dinner. 7pm Book Club meeting via zoom. Four members besides me and Hannah, and the book was generally panned. The meeting turned out as I'd expected, although two surprised me as being middle-of-the-roaders. Rather heated arguments when the discussion moved on to current events. And noone responded at all to my elaboration on Julia's occupation.

The discussion continued after the meeting. Hannah seemed surprised that I didn't blanketly agree with her views. Life experiences form our points of view, and our lives have been very, very different.
